Four Reasons why I chose Norway as a study destination
Norway offers a little bit of everything; a diverse culture with hands-on education systems, as well as many opportunities of enjoying the beautiful nature after your classes. Norway has all you need to start a new journey towards a prosperous future.
“As an international student from Morocco, I never imagined that I would end up studying in Norway. However, after completing my undergraduate degree in Finland, I knew that I wanted to continue my education in a country that values hands-on teaching and could give me job opportunities. That’s why I chose to pursue my master’s degree in Norway.”
Reason One: Enjoying a quick mountain escape
When I first arrived in Norway, I was struck by the country’s natural beauty. The fjords, mountains, and forests are truly breath taking and offer endless opportunities for outdoor activities. Norway has a spectacular nature. As I am a very outdoorsy person, you can always find me enjoying an evening hike in one of the 7 beautiful mountains surrounding Bergen.
Reason Two: Practical education system
Norway is not just a place for nature lovers, it is a country that values education and innovation. One of the things that I appreciate most about studying in Norway is the hands-on teaching approach. In my program, we have regular business cases and field trips, which allow us to apply what we learn in the classroom to real-life situations. This approach makes the learning experience more engaging and enjoyable. It also helped me to understand the concepts better and retain the information for a longer time.
Reason Three: Attractive job market
Another reason why I chose to study in Norway is the job opportunities that the country offers. Norway is home to a strong and diverse economy, which provides students with a wide range of job options after graduation. Additionally, the country's high standard of living and social welfare system makes it an attractive place to live and work. I was able to land an internship while I was pursuing my master's which will give me valuable experience and help me to make connections in my field of study
Reason Four: A multicultural and welcoming country
Studying in Norway was is also about the people and the culture. Norwegians are known for their friendly and welcoming nature, and I have had the pleasure of meeting some truly amazing people during my time here. They helped me to feel at home and made my transition to living in a new country much easier.
Additionally, while walking on campus, you will often hear many languages spoken at the hallway. I was surprised to see how many international & exchange students in my campus. Norway is melting pot gathering students and professionals from all over the globe. Moreover, Norway promotes going on exchange, learning from diverse cultures, and that is why you will always find exchange opportunities with a rich network of many prestigious institutions from all over the world for international students to be part of.
In conclusion, Norway is a fantastic study destination for international students. Its hands-on teaching approach, job opportunities, friendly people, and beautiful nature make it a unique and rewarding place to study. As an international student, I am grateful for the opportunity to experience all that Norway has to offer and would highly recommend it to anyone considering studying abroad. It has been a life-changing experience and I will always cherish the memories and friendships that I have made here.
