Scholarships to exchange students

The Norwegian government offers no individual scholarships to exchange students. There are, however, a few other foundations or schemes that offer scholarships for exchange students.

The Erasmus+ Grant

The Erasmus+ grant is available to students from the EU and North Macedonia, Serbia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey. You may receive an Erasmus+ grant as a contribution to your travel and subsistence costs. This may vary according to differences in living costs between your country and the destination country, the number of students applying for a grant, the distance between countries and the availability of other grants.

You can apply through the international or Erasmus+ office of your higher education institution.

Nordplus Higher Education Grant

If your home institution participates in a Nordplus higher education programme, you may be eligible for a grant. Note that you cannot apply for a grant directly from the Nordplus administration, please contact the international office of your higher education institution.
