Economics (master)

You will get a foundation in core economic disciplines like micro- and macroeconomics, econometrics and mathematics, combined with courses on topics that are based on the research of the academic staff. Topics include; International Economics, Economic Policy, Behavioural Economics, Industry Markets and Competition, Money Credit and Finance, Growth and Development, Resources Energy and Environment.
As a master’s student in Economics you will be able to choose from UiO’s long list of exchange agreements with Universities across the world.

Student Life
Economics is known for a good and active study environment, including a student magazine, business contacts, and social event associations. The buddy week at the start of the semester is there to help you settle into the student community. Every autumn, a cabin trip is organized for new students.
Internship
The course ECON4032 - Internship i Økonomi offers the opportunity to combine work at highly esteemed institutions with your studies. Being an intern provides invaluable work experience, broadens your network, and shows how what you’ve learned in the auditorium can be put into practice as an economist. The course runs every spring and is taught in Norwegian.

Honours certificate
Are you academically ambitious? It is possible to supplement your master`s degree with an honours certificate worth 20 credits. You take the certificate concurrently with the master`s programme.
