Extension studies in Music Performance

Do you want to develop your instrumental skills and your artistic profile on your main instrument? Extension studies give you the opportunity to add and specialize further after a completed bachelor's programme in music performance. You will learn more about artistic dissemination on a professional level.

Education takes place through individual tuition, ensemble activity, master classes, project work, seminars and concerts. The programme offers different subjects: Main instrument, Chamber music/Ensemble, Accompaniment, Secondary instrument and Composition and Arrangement.

After completing your studies, you will have learned to perform a repertoire with variety and difficulty that shows that you have reached an advanced level both technically and artistically.

Entry requirements

A completed 3 or 4 year Bachelor degree in Music Performance is required. Proficiency in English on an advanced level is required and must be documented.

All applicants must pass 2 rounds of auditions. The first round will be completed by submitting a video recording of some of the requested repertoire by 15 January. The second round will be held in week 10 at our campus in Stavanger, for those who pass the videoaudition (round 1).

For applicants living outside the Nordic Countries it will be sufficient with a video of the entire requested repertoire as round 1. Round 2 will be a digital interview during week 10 for those who pass the videoaudition.
