Geotechnics and Geohazards - Master's Programme
Each year, natural disasters caused by geohazards result in numerous deaths and extensive damage to the environment and infrastructure worldwide. Geohazards include landslides, rockslides, avalanches, earthquakes, and tsunamis. Many lives could be saved, and massive destruction avoided if people knew more about the forecasting and prevention of geohazards. The Master’s program in Geotechnics and Geohazards provides technical and scientific knowledge related to geohazards. You will learn about the properties of soil and geotechnical materials, and how to build safely. Throughout the program, you will conduct field investigations and measurements, laboratory testing, data simulations, and risk analyses needed to find technical solutions related to geohazards and geotechnical challenges. The Master’s program in Geotechnics and Geohazards is a two-year master’s degree program taught in English at NTNU.
