Why study this program?

The focus of the Master program in Management of Innovation and Sustainable Business Development is on how companies – small and large, new and old – can develop sustainable solutions, strategies and business models.

The campus of NTNU in Ålesund is small which means that students are in close contact with the faculty members. The campus is lively with many student organizations and social events organized for students. Studying in Ålesund means that you are close to nature, with outdoor activities for both summer and winter close by. There are great opportunities for hiking, kayaking, climbing, cross-country and downhill skiing, for example.

What will you learn?

You will your existing knowledge through courses in innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and change management and learn to build sustainable business models, manage innovation projects and sustainability strategies. The teaching is based on the most recent research in the field of entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability.

We collaborate with local companies that operate internationally for example in shipbuilding, aquaculture, the furniture sector and tourism. During your studies, you will work on sustainability and innovation challenges from the local industry and enhance your practical skills and get to know possible future employers. The programme also offers opportunities for internships, giving you valuable work experience and close contact with industry during your studies.

Career prospects

The studies prepare you for careers within sustainability and innovation management, business development, consulting, and leadership roles across industries.

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, innovation, entrepreneurship, management, organisational studies or an equivalent field, with a minimum GPA of C. The degree must include at least 80 ECTS in business, economics, management, marketing, innovation, entrepreneurship or organizational studies.
