Nordic Social Policy and Global Sustainable Development

Pressing global challenges such as climate change, migration, demographic shifts, human rights backsliding and digitalization of society requires new expertise and educations.

Governments, NGOs and international organizations need to develop new solutions to achieve the sustainable development goals. As well as enhancing your knowledge in sustainable welfare and the complex and contradictory forces that shape the global development – you will be equipped with relevant methodologies and approaches to make a difference.

The NORPOL Master’s Programme at OsloMet offers a unique opportunity to delve into the complexities of welfare policies and sustainable development. Taking the Nordic experiences as a point of departure, this course will shape your understanding of sustainable welfare by examining a wide range of advanced theories, approaches, and stimulating debates on how to foster sustainable welfare in a global context.

OsloMet hosts one of the largest welfare policy research communities in Europe. In the NORPOL programme, you will study with international and national social policy experts. Graduates of the NORPOL programme are well-prepared for a variety of impactful careers in government agencies and public sector, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations.
