Norwegian language and civilization for international students (NIS)
The emphasis of this study is on giving students good general capabilities in Norwegian language. The programme is also meant to make it easier for students to adapt to the Norwegian society. The study of Norwegian culture and civilization aims to give students the general overview they need when they begin their vocational studies. It is also meant to provide an insight into Norwegian social structures and the living conditions of Norwegians. Upon completion, students will reach a Norwegian language proficiency equivalent to the B2-level (CEFR).
Entry requirements
1. Academic requirementsApplicants must meet the requirements of the Higher Education Entrance Qualification (GSU) in Norway, which is a completed Norwegian secondary school diploma or equivalent. The GSU-list shows the equivalent educational certificates for applicants with education from other countries.2. Language requirementsApplicants must meet the English language requirement for higher education in Norway. Prior knowledge of Norwegian language is not required for admission to the NIS course.Students applying for a student visa must also be eligible for further studies, in accordance with further study plans.Follow this link to find out more about admission.
