Master in Sustainable Production and Utilisation of Marine Bioresources (MARBIO) is a research-based master's program that combines expertise from several Nordic countries to educate the next generation of professionals in the field of Blue Growth and Marine Circular Economy.

Through an interdisciplinary approach, students gain insight into the interactions between fisheries, aquaculture, the environment, law, management, production, and utilization of marine bioresources. The program builds on the expertise of Norway, Iceland and Sweden in these areas.

This program fosters mobility and exchange between the partner universities (Bodø, Hòlar and Göteborg) to delve into the complementary aspects of Sustainable Production and Utilization of Marine Bioresources in the Nordic countries.

The first semester includes three mandatory courses, one from each partner university, with a combination of online and on-site lectures, seminars, industry visits, etc. During the second semester, students exchange to one of the partner universities. Building on their first-year experience, they will work on their master's thesis project, which they will finalize at the end of the second year.
